The Elixir-Excelerate work package was granted funding in 2015 to fast-track the implementation of Elixir and to drive the development of national Elixir nodes. We now invite you to the first workshop in Elixir-Excelerate Task 10.3 - Capacity Building in Genome Assembly and Annotation.
Where: Uppsala, Sweden
When: Oct 19 12.00 - Oct 20 13.00 (lunch to lunch)
This workshop represents the first chance to discuss how the Excelerate task 10.3 should be implemented. What do we consider important and want to focus on? The task description mentions a collaboration with WP6 on marine organisms and with WP8 on plants. A development of web services to facilitate interaction of users with genomic data is also mentioned. We need to find technical solutions for these issues, but also make sure there are groups responsible to makes these things a reality. There is a lot of room to suggest more additions, and we welcome all nodes that want to be a part of shaping this task for the years to come

Arlanda airport is the closest airport and is strongly recommended. There are other airports in the Stockholm area (Bromma, Västerås, Skavsta), but these are hours from Uppsala and should only be seen as the second option.
